50+ Years of Expertise

The Lineage of Wallace Trailers

From the first trailer built, we've refined the design, listened to operators, and gradually built a reputation for rugged performance. Our mission is simple: to manufacture lowboy trailers engineered for the real work of hauling heavy equipment, trailers built to stand up in the field. We focus on functional durability, maintenance-friendliness, predictable value, and building trailers that crews can depend upon 30+ years down the road.

What We Build

At Wallace Trailers, we manufacture lowboy trailers tailored for heavy-equipment transport. Key attributes of our builds include:

  • Designs derived from real job site needs: equipment loading/unloading, uneven surfaces, tough terrain.
  • Features built in as standard rather than optional add-ons.
  • Emphasis on serviceability: easy access to hubs/brakes, commonly-used suspension systems, hydraulic arrangements that field mechanics can understand and maintain.
  • Flexibility when required: while we have standard builds optimized for typical equipment-haul work, we remain capable of responding to unique customer requirements with tailored solutions.

What Makes Us Different (and Why Buyers Choose Us)

Job-site alignment
We build trailers that match the reality of moving heavy equipment frequently: loading, securing, transport, unloading. If you value uptime, our trailers are designed to maximize.

Standards built-in
Instead of offering a long list of "standard vs optional," we build with many features as baseline. This increases predictability for the buyer, reduces the time spent on spec conversations, and simplifies manufacturing. The result: a strong build with fewer variables to worry about.

Service-friendly design
We prioritize components and layouts that reduce downtime: service-accessible hubs, well-known suspension systems, hydraulic setups that are field-friendly. For fleets that operate equipment far from major support centers, that simplifies upkeep and avoids high maintenance burdens.

How We Compare to the Competition

Load-path and workflow
Our trailers are designed for repeated equipment-haul cycles: straightforward loading, securing, and transport. Some competitors focus on ultra low weight or ultra low prices. If your workflow emphasizes speed, reliability, and minimal staging, our trailers are designed for you.

Deck height and clearance
We balance a low deck height with durability and service considerations. Some manufacturers may market extremely low deck heights (18"-22") with complex axles or configurations. Our belief is that slightly higher deck heights coupled with rugged design and maintenance-friendliness provide better field value for many customers.

Standard vs optional equipment
Because we include many features as standard, customers receive high-value builds without "option creep." That means fewer surprises, simpler procurement process, and often better delivered value. Often, the standard options are overlooked by competitors and results in a new trailer that the customer has to"modify" to put to work.

Neck design and serviceability
On our detachable models, we design for practicality: self-contained pony motors, hydraulics that are maintainable, necks that function reliably even under off-pavement or soft-ground conditions. We believe this gives a robust field-service profile compared to designs that require very specialized and perfect loading conditions.

Durability and Value
Even with 40+ years of abuse, our trailers always outperform the competition. The image at the top of this article includes a trailer that came in to be refurbished after 40 years on the job with no structural damage whatsoever; that's durability. We often see our lowboys sell for more than what they cost to buy new; that's value.
